Michael A. Hartman is founder, President & CEO of Frogdice, Inc., an independent developer of online games located in Lexington, KY. He is a graduate of the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service and the University of Georgia School of Law.
Michael believes strongly in the vital importance of community for successful and enjoyable games. Frogdice’s oldest game, Threshold RPG, is 15 years old and still has thousands of players – many of whom have played for over 10 years. Frogdice’s newest game, Coin ‘n Carry is a social web game that launched on September 22, 2011 and has expanded the Frogdice community to include a broader demographic.
Michael is also Managing Editor for Gaming on the web site BrightHub.com. BrightHub is a technology destination site that serves Gamers on all platforms with game reviews, analysis, and strategy guides.
Michael takes pride in the fact that hundreds of gamers have met their spouses through one of his games, and counts himself among them! Michael met his wife, Wanwisa, through his first game, Threshold RPG. She is now Vice President and Creative Director of Frogdice. Wanwisa Hartman grew up in Campbellsville, KY and attended Centre College. Michael is thankful she finally convinced him to move to Lexington, KY in 2004. They have two daughters who are active in school, Girl Scouts, Legacy Gymnastics, and a number of other activities that keep the Hartman Shuttle Service in constant operation. Their daughters are already gamers themselves, and contributed ideas to the design of Coin ‘n Carry. The next generation of game designers is already in development.
